Hey everyone!

H i everyone! Yes I am back! Sorry to those people who have been waiting so long for a new article. Thank you for being so patient for   this article or should I say special surprise. So to show how sorry I am for not blogging so long. Today I will show you proof why i've been so busy so you guys won't be upset.... and I will show it in a special way.         Dearest Blog, I've been very busy in the past 2 months. Now that summer is over and autumn has started I have to go back to my daily routine. Now that I am in year 5 at school (international school) and I am 9 years old i've been very busy. Plus book week this year at school is starting in October this month on the 24th, and I have camp in November too. I've been very tired too this past 2 months. My mom and dad have work to do too.                 THE OTTER PHOPET                      FINDING DORY Hi everyone, Its me Lexi. Today this article is not a special edition not regular articles but its a like a side article you get what I mean? Like with Harry Potter.  To those who have read Harry Potter,  JK. Rowling the author of Harry Potter has 3 side Books. The books are not based on the story of whats happening but they are like the books based on the setting. Beaver

        H ave you heard of Justin Beaver? If you have you may have heard of a beaver right? For those who haven't, here is your information. Beavers are natural engineers. In fact, they are such good engineers that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, more commonly known as MIT, made their mascot a beaver. Its name is Tim.    Diet Wild Kratts: Build it beaver      B eavers are herbivores which means they only eat plants. To be more specific, they eat leaves, inner bark, twigs, alder, birch, cottonwood, willow, and other deciduous trees. Beavers also enjoy shrubs, aquatic plants, ferns, grass and crops. Difference between beaver and otter       B eavers have long teeth to cut trees while otters have short teeth. Otters have slim long bodies while beavers have chubby bodies. I'm not saying that they are fat. Beavers have a flat tail so they can warn their relatives by slapping the tail in the water to create a warning. Meanwhile the otters have a slim tail to steer

Draco lizard

        D raco lizards are flying lizards, believe it or not. Although, it's not exactly the Slytherin seeker Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter . All right, enough chit chat or else 5 points from Gryffindor. Draco lizards are reptiles and once agin they are not named after Draco Malfoy! Food Wild Kratts     D raco Lizards are carnivores which means they eat meat And final warning, this is not a Draco Malfoy article! Draco lizards willingly eat mostly ants and termites. Draco lizards are not one of those big lizards like Iguanas so it makes sense that they only eat ants and termites. Gliding      W hen draco lizards fly, they are usually on top of a tree branch. Then they jump off the tree and spread their wings. To glide farther, they spread their wings wider. To land lower and glide slower, it depends how far the next tree is. They then retract their wings. 

Dhole

        Y ou might not hear this animal before but they are real. Dholes are mammals. They look like a fox but they are actually wild dogs. They are call the whistling dogs because of the sound they make when hunting. Food     D holes are omnivores which means they eat meat and plants. Dholes like to eat wild pigs, deer, buffalo, rabbits, lizards and wild berries. Dholes favourite food is deer. Dholes hunt in packs. Birth     W hen female dholes breed, they give birth to between 5-12 pups. Dhole pups grow very fast and are cared by their parents and other dholes in the pack. Pups begin to hunt when they are only a few months old and reach adult size by the time they are a year and a half of age.

Seals

        T here are many different types of seals. There are harp seals, elephant seals, fur seals etc. Seals are mammals which means they don't actually breathe  underwater. Seals live up to 12-30 years. This is true! Diet     S eals are carnivores which means they eat meat. Seals eat fish but they will also eat any type of meat they find in the ocean. Seals also enjoy squid(not giant squid or colossal), octopus and shellfish. Seals eat a lot each day.   Habitat     S eals can live in very different places depending on their species. Some seals can be found in Antarctica while others can live in very hot places. Many of the seals that are found in Antarctica can survive because of their fat blubber, keeping them warm. Other seals that live in hot areas have leaser fur so they are not so hot.

Tree Goats

        D o you ever wonder if goats can climb trees? Well tree goats can. They live in Morocco and they love Morocco's Argania trees. They like to climb on them. There can be many goats on one tree. Food     T ree goats are herbivores which means they eat plants only. Tree goats eat a special type of nut; they will also eat fruit leaves in the trees of Argania. Poop Turned to Oil    G et ready to puke people! Make sure you have a bucket next to you if you are reading this. Tree goat poop can be turned into argan oil. The special seed they eat is very hard to open and can not be opened by hand. So people poke through their poop to pick out the nuts. Through the goat's digestion, the shells of the nuts become easier to open and made into argan oil.

Snow Leopard

        S now leopards are rare animals. These grey leopards live in the mountains of Central Asia. They have snowy fur and wide fur-covered feet, acting as snowshoes. Snow leopards have powerful feet that can jump as far as 15 metres! Diet     S now leopards are carnivores which means they eat meat. They prey upon the blue sheep (bharal) of Tibet and the Himalayas. Snow leopards can kill animals 3 times their weight. They will also eat smaller animals such as marmots, hares and game birds. Life       S now leopards are born blind and can't see until they are 9 days old. They leave their mother at a very young age. They are fully active by 2 month old and leave their mom by 2 years old. By this time they are fully independent.         

Otter

        O tters are land animals and sea animals. Otters are in the weasel family. They are very good swimmers. Every single otter has a family. Otters mostly live in the water thoughout its life. Diet    O tters are carnivores which means they only eat meat. Fish are otters' favourite food, although they also eat amphibians, turtles and crayfish. Swimming features     O tters get their swimming abilities by propelling their powerful tails and flexing their long bodies. They have webbed feet, water repellent fur to keep them warm and dry. They also have nostrills and ears that close in the water. They remain active in winter using ice holes to breath air. They can hold their breath underwater for about eight minutes.

Lynx

        T he Lynx is part of the cat family. They are one of the bigger cats in north america. Lynx lives in forest and mountain regions. They are recognised by long tuffs on ears and stubby tails. Food     L ynxes are carnivores so they only eat meat. Their favourite prey is hare but they also eat birds and deers. Lynxes hunt at night. This means they are nocturnal. Mating       L ynxes mate in early spring and late winter. About 2 months later the mother lynx has a litter on average, 4 babies. Mother lynxes have babies once a year. Lynxes have their babies in dens. Lynx kittens love to wrestle with each other.  

Pigeon

         P igeons have lived for thousands of years. Now they are all over the place in  cities. You sometimes think pigeons are unwelcoming guests of our towns but they are actually one of the most intelligent birds in the world. Fun Fact pigeons  will poop on heads! so better be careful! Food    P igeons are omnivores which means they eat meat and plants. Pigeons are also granivores which means they eat grains. Pigeons like to eat different types of grains, seeds, greens, berries and fruits. Pigeons will occasionally eat insects, snails and earthworms in the wild.  Pigeon Milk    Y ep, I mean it! Pigeons drink milk. But not the cow milk we drink though. When baby pigeons are born, they feed on their mother's milk. Pigeons belong to 1 of the 3 species in the world that feed milk to their young.

Dolphin

        D olphins are friendly animals. They live in groups called pods. Dolphins speak their own language Seriously, they speak dolphinese. I'll explain to you later. Dolphins are mammals eventhough they live underwater; they have to come up and breathe though their blowhole. Diet Dolphins Wild Kratts: Speaking Dolphinese     D olphins are carnivores, which means they eat meat. They eat fish and squid. They will eat, based on where they live, what is  available and during what season. If there is a school of fish, dolphins will round up the fish in their pods (groups) together. Dolphinese    D olphins communicate by clicks and whistles. They use a variety of clicks and whistles to communicate with their pod. They usefully say 'dangers coming!' or 'eat!' etc.

Kangaroo

    K angaroos are marsupials. Marsupials are animals that have pouches. There are many different types of kangaroos like the eastern grey kangaroo, or the red kangaroo etc. Kangaroos are herbivores with means they only eat plants. Packs     K angaroos live in packs. There is usually a boss which is the male and its the biggest kangaroo. Then there is the female and she is blue (no kidding she is actually blue). The females have pouches to keep their babies in. The rest of the pack is male red kangaroos. When another kangaroo wants to take over the pac, it has to beat the boss first. They will start a wrestling tournament; whoever wins, gets to take over or keep the pack. Kiddies    K angaroo babies are called roos or joeys. Roos or joeys are born in the female's pouch; they will not come out until they are over 1 year old. They roos/joeys will grow and outgrown the female's pouch when its too big to fit.

Dalmatian

         D almatians are black and white spotty dogs. They are very active and need plenty of exercise. Dalmatians are best known as the stars of the 101 Dalmatians.  Dalmatians have many different jobs like fire house dog, hunter and circus performer etc. Life as a  Dalmatian      D almatians are not very suitable for people that lives in small apartments because they require brisk walks or runs serveral times a day. Dalmatians are not suited for cold climates. They are very active  indoors. Dalmatians will behave well if they can run and play in a yard . Spots   D id you know that dalmatians are born with no spots at all? But when they start to grow, they will have more and more spots. Dalmatian's body is covered with spots. In fact,  if you look in their mouths, there will be spots inside their mouths. They will grow spots  as they mature . 101 Dalmatians

Pandas

        P andas live in south central china. They are very endangered. Pandas are also known as Giant Pandas, Panda bears or just simply pandas. Pandas are omnivores which means they eat meat and plants. Food    P andas like to eat, of course, bamboo. They also eat grass, bulbs, insects and fruits. Pandas' favourite food is bamboo. It is the most important food of their life. They spend at least 12 hours a day eating bamboo.  Birth    B aby pandas are born hairless and blind. Baby pandas are called cubs. Mommy pandas can only have one cub in its life. If it has 2 pandas it will have to give up one and take care of the  other. After growing a bit, cubs are very playful. They like to roll  here and roll there but it will never get too far away from its mum.  Panda Photo Gallery  

Stag

        S tags are really red male deer. If it was any other deer it will be called a buck. Stags are herbivores which means they eat plants only. Stags are one of the largest deer species since its a male red deer. Did you know? In Harry Potter, hi s father's Animagus  was a stag. Harry's patronus was also a stag to represent his father. Diet      S tags eat plants, fruits acorns and nuts when they are found. In the fall, when things are harder to find, they will switch to grass and evergreen plants.   In the winter, Stags will just eat whatever food is left like  leaves, twigs, bushes and other wordy plants. New Antlers     S tags will shed their antlers every year. Then grow a complete new pair. The shedding progress takes about 2 or 3 weeks to complete. While the regeneration takes about a whole summer to complete.The cycle starts all over again.

Horses

        H orses are helpful and fun in many ways. They can be riding horses, pulling carriages, or competing in a race. All horses are grazers. Most horses are domestic. Horses are great for traveling. Horses are big. You'll need a saddle to ride a horse. Diet     H orses are herbivores which  means they eat only plants. Horses eat grass and hay. It depends where they live to see what the eat. Farm horses eat hay and grass. While wild horses like Zebras eat only grass. Seriously you don't expect a pile of hay in the middle of the savannah, right? Birth     B aby horses are called filly or colt. Filly is for a young girl horse; and colt is forbid horses. Horses can run shortly after birth. Filly's can get quicker on their feet and nurse than colts. The first milk a horse helps from its mother help he/she boast up the immune system.

        Y es my special edition...now if you haven't read or watched Harry Potter, you may skip this read this but for those who did, check this out. Phoenix  Dumbledore's Phoenix: Fawks     N o spelling mistakes. I know you might be wondering what on earth is a phoenix. I'll tell you what is a phoenix. They are beautiful birds that have healing powers in their tears and will reborn after death. Rebirth    P hoenixes will burst into flames when they die. They look very weak when they die. Fortunately their ashes will be left behind and they will  magically form a phoenix chick. Abilities   Harry Potter and the camber of secrets: Fawks and the basilisk    P hoenixes are very strong. They can carry intense heavy loads. But the coolest thing a phoenix can do is to reborn itself. Thats not all, phoenixes have magical healing power with their tears. It can heal any wound. Their singing will give courage to the good and fear to he bad. Their tears will even brin

Polar bear

        B owler bear, I'm a bowler bear. Get the joke? A bowling polar bear. Right, enough of that. Polar bears live in the artic circle. They are white because they need to camouflage. Polar bears are found in the tundra. Food     P olar bears are carnivores which means they eat meat. They eat walruses, seals and they also scavenge on whales. Polar bears are very patient. They catch seals by lying next to the air hole where seals breath. When the seal goes up to the air hole, the polar bear catches it and dinner is served. The polar bear is one of the most dangrest bears on earth. They have sharp claws so watch out. Dancing on ice Wild Kratts: Polar Bears      A ll right, polar bears don't really dance and don't ask me if I had seen a dancing polar bear because I haven't. Ice is slippery right? So how do polar bears keep themselves upright? Their secret ability is they have tiny tiny  buds that can stick to the ice to help polar bears stand upright.

Ocelots

        O celots are also known as the dwarf leopard. They are twice the size of an average house cat. The ocelot is a sleek animal. They are nocturnal which means they are active at night. Fun Fact : Ocelots are great swimmers; they do not avoid water . Habitat     M any O celots live under the canopies of the south american rainforest. They can also be found in jungles. They are also inhabited in brushlands as far north as Texas. Ocelots can also adapt to human habitats. Food    O celots are adapted for eating meat. They have teeth that can tear like scissors. Ocelots do not have the kind of teeth for chewing so they tear meat into pieces instead and swallow it whole. Ocelots like to eat: rabbits, rodents, fish, frogs, iguanas etc.

Hawk

        H awks are birds. They have feathers. There are around 270 species of hawks around the world except antarctica. Hawks are in many different sizes depending on the species. Did you know? In avengers, H awkeye is called that because  he has sharp eyes for  shooting arrows. Habitats      H awks are inhabited in different habitats like marshes, forests, rainforests, prairies, open savannas, grasslands, mountains etc. It depends on what species a hawk is to determine where it lives. For example, red-tailed hawks need to live in open areas for hunting and of course lots of scattering perches. Diet      H awks will eat almost anything they can find. They can see 8 times better than the sharpest human eye so hunting is not a problem. They eat mostly mammals but they will also eat snakes, turtles, frogs, lizards, salamanders, toads, ducks, crows, woodpeckers, doves, blackbirds, kingfishers, robins, owls etc.

Cats

        P uuuurrrr....... Cats are in the feline family. They make great pets especially for quiet people. Cats are snuggly, cozy, fuzzy animals. Cats are also known as the house cat or domestic cats. Diet       C ats are carnivorous which means they eat meat. Cats like to eat fish especially tuna cat food and I expect everybody should know..... mice. Cats like to drink milk and water. Don't give your cat raw meat. It will make your cat sick. Color coat       C ats have many types of colours on their coats. If you see a orange white striped one, that is a tortoiseshell cat. Their are also black cats--very mysterious-- and cream and a bit of grey cats....very cozy. There are many many more colours as well.
