Snow Leopard
Snow leopards are rare animals. These grey leopards live in the mountains of Central Asia. They have snowy fur and wide fur-covered feet, acting as snowshoes. Snow leopards have powerful feet that can jump as far as 15 metres!
Diet
Snow leopards are carnivores which means they eat meat. They prey upon the blue sheep (bharal) of Tibet and the Himalayas. Snow leopards can kill animals 3 times their weight. They will also eat smaller animals such as marmots, hares and game birds.
Life
Snow leopards are born blind and can't see until they are 9 days old. They leave their mother at a very young age. They are fully active by 2 month old and leave their mom by 2 years old. By this time they are fully independent.
